In the cultural sphere, living arts are traditionally contrasted with heritage. It's as if the living arts didn't give rise to transmission, and conversely, as if heritage had no connection with current events. Puppetry, like all the arts, is a major component of our culture and identity. As such, its transmission from generation to generation contributes to our intellectual formation, the transmission of our values and the discovery of other civilizations. There is a puppetry heritage that is passed on through training and the preservation of collections, but as it is a living art, collections do not exhaustively cover the many aspects of artistic creation and performance. Puppetry is also an integral part of the great currents of the performing arts and their revolutions. This heritage is the work of artists who exchange ideas.
