Postcard Recto: The scene depicts a moment in the life of Indians in Canada. In the background are mountains, water and a boat. In front, a seated woman holds a baby wrapped in leather and cloth. On the ground to the right, an older woman sits beside a round terracotta vessel. To the right, a long-haired woman stands holding a large mortar contained in a long terracotta cylinder. In front of her are some aliements. Not far from her feet, a bare-chested child leans against a tepee. Verso : At top left, it reads "Jacques Cartier (1491-1557) à la découverte du Canada 1535-1536) Scénario, décors, marionnettes Monique Barthez". Just below, separated by a horizontal line, "Village Huron - Scène de vie, Contact avec les habitants d'HOCHELAGA (devenu aujourd'hui MONTREAL)".
