La Compagnie des Marottes
Recto : Black and white photograph. On the left, a marionette that appears to correspond to "Papotin" according to the note on the recto (cf. CM-ARCH-00127). This puppet features large, round, dark eyes and a long, cylindrical nose. She sports a short bob hairstyle with dense bangs, her hair dark with alternating lighter streaks. She wears a long, dark suit topped by a light, pointed, turned-up collar. The garment is adorned with a motif, partially obscured by the marotte's arm. Her gloved hand rests on the left cheek of a man who appears to be André Tahon. This man wears his hair slicked to the side and is dressed in a short sleeveless vest over a light-colored shirt. The shirt's pointed collar, open, rests above the vest. At top right, a hoop inscribed "RCA". Verso: At top center, inscribed: "LA COMPAGNIE DES MAROTTES", followed below by: "Directed by André TAHON, Orchestra Michel BRANDT". Further down, it reads: "GRAND PRIX DU DISQUE 1958 DE L'ACADEMIE CHARLES CROS". On the right, it says: "33 Tours", and just below, in the center, "Les Chansons de Papotin ..... 130 068", accompanied by several titles. A little further down, on the right, is inscribed: "Super 45 Tours", and just below, in the center, "Les Chansons de Papotin", also followed by several titles. Finally, at bottom left, the inscription reads: "Au recto : PAPOTIN et André TAHON", while at right, it reads: "(Photo FIEBIG)".
