Figurine de cigogne vêtu de profil
Creators: Carlo Spéder
The head consists of a thick, white-painted wooden disk, connected to an upward-curving neck, also made of thick wood and painted the same color. The stork has a thin, straight beak, as long as its neck. This beak, made of wood and painted an orange-red, is topped by a cut-out piece that forms the transition between the beak and the head, giving it a rounded shape. On the lower part of the head, a black-painted wooden half-disc represents the eyeball at the center of each face. A curved black eyebrow surmounts each eye, accentuating the animal's expression. The stork's body is made of padding wrapped in white fabric, thinned in places. It is adorned with a white serrated collar framing a knotted yellow scarf, decorated with brown, green and black motifs, the edges of which are also serrated. The end of the torso is embellished by lacy pieces of fabric with blue, red and cream motifs. The entire structure is mounted on a wooden handle, which rests on a rectangular wooden base, guaranteeing the figurine's stability. It appears that this bird once wore feathers on the top of its head and upper back, but these are now absent.
