Figurine musicien russe avec balalaïka
Creators: Carlo Spéder
Figurine depicting a Russian musician playing the balalaika. He wears a mass of yellow fur on his head, stopping just above his raised eyes. His head, in pink-painted wood, features two half-moon-shaped cardboard ears, painted pink and red at the tips, and a round red nose, also in relief. His eyelids are blue, his irises black, and his gaze is directed downwards. His mouth forms a slight smile painted red and black, and his cheeks are highlighted by a red and black line. His articulated neck, in pink-painted wood, is covered by a red collar with floral motifs in shades of green, orange and blue. His full-sleeved green jacket is adorned with two gold epaulets and two red ribbons with motifs similar to those on the collar. These ribbons run across his chest on either side of his neck, covering the front and back, and are held in place at the waist by a black and gray border. These ribbons are also found on the edges of the sleeves. On these straps, at chest level, two pieces of fringed gold leather are decorated with white pearls: three white pearls aligned on the right side and a single one on the left. The figure's hands, in pink-painted iron, are curved, with red nails. His right hand is closed and holds the balalaika, a wooden instrument painted white with black detailing and adorned with four strings. He wears red corduroy pants and pointed black wooden and leather boots. The square base on which he stands is made of plywood, covered on top with a gilded fabric with a plant motif and surrounded on the sides by a striped fabric in slightly brownish relief. The bottom edge is covered with a fine white cord.
