Tête du Myanmar bleue
String puppet head from Myanmar. Articulated mouth. A bun on top of the head surrounded by red fabric with gold trim and a turquoise interior studded with nails. Flat top of the skull with sculpted hair. Painted facial features. Hollow back of the head and neck. A double string tied at the front of the skull. Chip on the left side of the puppet. Rectangle between the two eyes. On the left side, the stud is present but the bead is missing; on the right side, the bead is split in two. Purchased in Myanmar (formerly Burma) in 2007 at a flea market near Inle Lake and comes from a traditional Yoke Thay theater puppet.
