String puppet head from Myanmar. Articulated mouth. Wooden spike on the back of the skull and a bun on top. Flat top of the skull with carved hair. Headband made of burgundy red fabric with gold trim and flat sequins. Studded pearl earrings. Painted facial features. Hollow back of the head and neck. One string at the front of the skull. Chip on the left side of the puppet. Purchased in Myanmar (formerly Burma) in 2007 at a flea market near Inle Lake and comes from a traditional Yoke Thay theater puppet.
